Florida Preparing for Mass Vaccinations?

Dy’er Sez: This is about as scary as it gets. No, not the fact that this so called ‘Swine Flu” is making its rounds, but the fact that Florida (and, indeed, the entire USA) is gearing up for mass vaccination programs. And, even worse than that, the vaccine that they are going to use is EXPERIMENTAL; very little (if any) testing has been done with this drug, and there is no way they can find out of there’s any long term side effects on a drug that they will only be testing, at the most, for a few months. And it seems like the way that they are going to make this happen is through the schools (I’m assuming that they will not allow a child who has not had a shot to come to school if they decide to roll this out).

Let’s take a look at history: the 1976 mandatory innoculations were all jacked up. I’ve never gotten Sars, Anthrax, Smallpox, or swine flu and i’ve never been vaccinated for them either – no matter how much hysteria the press whipped up. I DID get the flu once…only AFTER i recieved a flu shot.

And there has been a lot of chatter that this inoculation program will become mandatory. Excerpts from  Time Magazine article from April of this year declare: “Howard Markel, director of the Center for the History of Medicine at the University of Michigan and a historical consultant to the CDC on flu pandemics, says the most vexing decision facing health officials is when to institute mass vaccination programs. Vaccines carry risks of complications, leading to agonizing ethical dilemmas…Markel says the political climate in the U.S. is much less combustible today than in the post-Watergate era, when Ford faced a skeptical public {John Sez: refrencing the 1976 outbreak of the Swine Flu in which mandatory vaccinations killed more people than the actual flu did}. Even so, he says, citizens still need to trust that the government is working for the greater good.”

Huh? Trust the government is working for the greater good?I think Mr. Markel is either living in a vacuum under a rock, is intentionally lying, or is a complete moron to think that the citizens of the US trust their government more now than during the Nixon/Ford era. My opinion is that it’s very possible that if these vaccinations are made mandatory, that action will be the one that breaks the camel’s back for the public at large, with the eventual outcome being that the shots will be administered to the public under the threat of law (or martial law, for that matter)…or a gun. I hope I’m way WAY off base on this.

Florida prepares for huge swine flu shot program

THE MIAMI HERALD

Florida’s surgeon general says the state is preparing for massive swine flu immunizations, starting with schoolchildren, as the Obama administration urges states to prepare for the likelihood that the virus might worsen in the fall.

”We may end up averting a crisis. That’s our hope,” said President Barack Obama, who took time away from the G-8 summit in Italy to telephone another summit back home — the 500 state and local health officials meeting to prepare for swine flu’s fall threat.

”We want to make sure we aren’t promoting panic, but we are promoting vigilance and preparation,” Obama said.

Kathleen Sebelius, secretary of Health and Human Services, told the swine flu summit some H1N1 vaccine should be ready by mid-October.

”Scientists and public health experts forecast that the impact of H1N1 may well worsen in the fall, when the regular flu season hits or even earlier, when schools start to open, which is only five or six weeks away,” she said.

Florida already is planning for such vaccinations, said Dr. Ana M. Viamonte Ros, Florida surgeon general, as she emerged from the summit.

”We’re already meeting with local schools and day-care centers on how we would do this,” she said. “By mid-October we won’t have doses for everyone. The vaccines will have to be directed toward individuals at high risk. It’s important to determine who really is at risk. With swine flu, more of the younger ages are affected. That puts more stress on schools.”
